Work Experience

Promotional Director
He’s Trying Records Labels
May 2021 - present

As a Promotional Director for He's Trying Records, I worked remotely with my San Diego-based colleague to bring his vision of promoting Japanese artists to Western audiences to life. Utilizing my expertise in political science and coursework from UC Davis, I played a crucial role in solidifying the foundation of the record label.

In addition to drafting a legal contract to document my contributions, I developed a mission statement to effectively define the company's objectives and reinforce its branding image. With a comprehensive understanding of our target audience, I designed promotional materials and devised a marketing strategy that significantly increased our social media presence.

By building upon Brandon's vision, I contributed to the success of the He's Trying Records Label and helped bring exposure to Japanese artists in Western markets.

In addition to my team leadership responsibilities, I worked collaboratively with other team members to fulfill Amazon's expected processing timetable, consistently exceeding my positional expectations in the process. As a communication liaison for middle and upper management, I ensured effective communication channels between team members and management, facilitating a more cohesive and productive work environment.

Overall, my time as a Process Guide at Amazon has honed my leadership, communication, and time-management skills, while also instilling in me a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Festival Director
KDVS 90.3 FM Radio
June 2018 - Aug 2019

As the Festival Director for KDVS 90.3 FM Radio, I successfully organized the annual premier festival, Operation Restore Maximum Freedom (“ORMF”), from the ground up. Despite operating under an extremely limited budget, I was able to double the festival's budget and increase ticket sales by 400% by implementing low-risk strategies that adhered to university guidelines. One of these strategies included applying for and receiving a grant from the City of Davis.

To ensure the success of the festival, I assembled and managed a team of 20 volunteers to reach out to local businesses and organizations for potential sponsorship. I also recruited a team of skilled volunteers to operate small events and the festival, and provided each volunteer with specific direction and goals to meet for the event. With my strong leadership and management skills, I was able to develop and oversee various roles for volunteers to fill, resulting in a well-organized and successful event.

Analyst Intern
Lake Research Partners
Sept 2018 - Dec 2018

As an Analyst Intern at Lake Research Partners (LRP) in Washington DC, I contributed to the team by conducting oppositional research and performing data analytics on trending national socio-economic issues. I was responsible for compiling and formatting large amounts of raw data extracted from LRP questionnaires conducted on various demographic cohorts amongst the US population. To help our clients, I reformatted the survey information and created a data visualization dashboard to organize the answers into numbers, graphs, and models. Through those models, I helped improve our clientele's campaign strategy, which ultimately helped secure victories in the Midterm Election for a majority of LRP’s clients.

Additionally, I monitored over 20 news sites for the latest trending topics and polling data that would be integrated into our clientele’s campaign strategies. My integrated news data helped improve their campaign effectiveness by widening their voter outreach and differentiating their platforms from those of their competition. My internship at LRP provided me with analytical skills and exposure to a fast-paced environment necessary to thrive in any data-driven position.

Public Policy Analyst
Street Level Strategy
July 2017 - Sept 2017

As a Public Policy Analyst at Street Level Strategy, I played a crucial role in California Coastal Commissioner Mark Vargas’ campaign for State Assembly. Using my expertise in data analysis, I organized and analyzed data on voters’ opinions and support for Commissioner Vargas. Additionally, I attended candidate forums to critically analyze his opponents’ platforms and identify their weaknesses, which we could then leverage to Vargas’ advantage. By doing so, I was able to help sway undecided voters to support Vargas.

To further enhance Vargas’ campaign strategy, I closely monitored news media outlets and voter trends. This helped me identify relevant and unique community-based issues that could be incorporated into Vargas’ platform to improve campaign effectiveness. Through my efforts, Vargas was able to reach a wider voter base and differentiate himself from other candidates. I am proud to have played an instrumental role in helping Commissioner Vargas achieve his goals and look forward to applying my skills to future endeavors.

Radio Broadcaster
KDVS 90.3 FM Radio
Aug 2017 - present

As a skilled radio broadcaster, I have cultivated strong relationships with sponsors and listeners, securing enough funds to keep KDVS’s quality programming as a trusted source of information and music on air for another year. During KDVS Spring 2018 fundraiser week, I raised $2300 in just a 2-hour timespan to help cover the costs of maintenance, rent, and other expenses of the radio station. I have also demonstrated my expertise in planning, developing, and maintaining schedules for public announcements and song requests, resulting in a 100% on-time metric.

Additionally, I have led and trained a team of telephone operators to effectively interact with callers and initiate donations to KDVS fundraisers. My ability to manage and produce radio interviews and theme-centric playlists in accordance with FCC procedures has also exposed listeners to non-commercial musical content, further solidifying my reputation as a skilled and effective radio broadcaster.
